garyshepherdmusicIn 2016, I released the EP “Walking with Camels” on the renowned UK-based record label Generation Bass — a project that reimagined Arabic music through the lens of futuristic electronica. As the main artist, I had the pleasure of collaborating with an incredible lineup of talented artists, including Aleksandar Grujic, Christoph Scherbaum, and Yrjänä Rankka. Together, we crafted a 5-track sonic journey, blending cinematic beats, exotic Middle Eastern chill, and the hypnotic pulse of ethnic techno.

The original EP featured five standout tracks:

The release was met with critical acclaim, earning praise from global tastemakers like the BBC World Service and DJ icon Gilles Peterson, as well as support from respected DJs and producers across the global bass scene. The momentum and success of the EP inspired the launch of an ambitious remix project that brought together a diverse array of international talent.

The remix release, titled “Walking with Camels: The Remixes”, became a major collaborative effort featuring boundary-pushing reworks from some of the most innovative names in global bass music. The project showcased remixes by:

This expansive project gave me the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and exchange creative energy with a worldwide network of producers, DJs, singers, musicians, VJs, and video artists. The result was an eclectic, genre-defying experience that pushed Arabic futurism into uncharted territory.
